Quite simply a legend within Manchester clubbing circles, Matt and Phred’s has established itself as the place to be seen for Manchester’s bohemians, beatniks and sophisticates who venture into the Northern Quarter in search of some of the best jazz this side of the Atlantic. Regularly visited by both godfathers and young pretenders in the jazz world, there is a varied schedule of gigs. It claims to be the only club in the north of England dedicated to jazz.
