Renaissance Mayflower

|
This fanciful hostelry is steeped in history. President-elect Franklin Delano Roosevelt and his family lived here before moving into the White House, just a few blocks away. Public rooms bustle day and night with the comings and goings of guests, but also Washingtonians, who meet here for business and socialising. Marble and mahogany reproduction furnishings distinguish the small-ish guest rooms; an extensive renovation of all rooms is due for completion by July 2004. The Café Promenade serves a delightful Mediterranean menu and the Town & Country Lounge is a favourite stop for evening drinks and complimentary hors d’oeuvres. Approximately 20 meeting rooms are suitable for groups up 1,050. |
