An impossibly cool hotel in a district that’s in the process of regeneration. The architecture is redolent of an elegant 1930s cruise liner, with porthole-like windows and smooth, clean lines. Gaze up in awe at the extent of the stunning spiral staircase. The 4th District remains shabby in a way that only ultra-cool up-andcoming areas can. It’s a short walk or tram ride to the Oper and Kärntner Strasse, and very close to the beautiful baroque Karlskirche. Be warned that the park around Karlskirche can be intimidating after dark, home to a community of junkies and beggars. |
