One of Madrid’s more significant landmarks, this enormous striking building has 17 floors of accommodation. The hotel, built 50 years ago was completely renovated in 2003. It stands close to Madrid’s cultural and commercial centre and overlooks the Plaza de España so it is worth asking for one of the spacious guest rooms with a balcony view—one of the best in the city. Non-smoking floors and wheelchair-access rooms are also available. Spanish/Mediterranean cuisine is served in El Mirador restaurant and drinks in the Plaza cocktail bar. There are eight meeting rooms for up to 460 people. |
