One of the jewels in Vancouver's crown is Stanley Park, one of the city's 180 parks. Sitting at the north-western tip of the city, it is divided by the Stanley Park Causeway which turns into the majestic Lion's Gate Bridge, connecting to the north Shore. This huge green space is roughly the same size (1000 acres) as the downtown core itself.
Carrie-Anne Moss, the gorgeous actress who stars in the Matrix films was born and bred in Vancouver. She was probably one of the residents who 'did the Seawall' an 11-kilometre paved pathway which circles the park. No vehicles are allowed on the Seawall, so if you want an authentic local experience grab your jogging shoes, rollerblades or a bicycle – which are the only forms of transport allowed!
