If you like beer, Colorado is the place to come. Besides the breweries of Coors and Anheuser-Busch, the Denver area is filled with micro-breweries and 'brew pubs'. A brew pub is a restaurant that brews the beer on-site, and you generally won't find their beers anywhere else. On any given day, there are about 50 beers available in Denver. Most brew pubs offer tours and four ounce samples so you can taste the variety of ales, porters, stouts and lagers. While some of the pubs produce what is commonly thought of as 'American' style lagers, most of the beers made are more traditional European – and British-style – ales.
