Airport Bahrain International Airport is located in Al Muharraq, or Muharraq for short. With the recent renovations to its arrivals and departures terminals and the duty-free shops, passing through the airport can be a pleasant experience. Bahrain-Saudi Causeway Visitors may also arrive by road on this 22km causeway connecting Bahrain island to Saudi Arabia on the mainland. It hits dry land at the northeastern end of the island, not far from Manama.

Taxis These are waiting in the rank outside the airport and are driven only by local Bahrainis, by law. However, do be careful. Unfortunately there have been numerous instances of over-charging with some resultant unpleasantness.

Hotel pick-up All the main hotels offer free airport pick-ups and drop-offs, and it’s a good idea to request this service in advance when you book your hotel.
