Where do you live and why?
In Kadriorg. It’s a beautiful and peaceful park district just a short six or seven minutes drive from the old town, next to the seaside— great for running, walking and relaxing, or for a visit to our brand new art museum.
What advice would you give a tourist? Any must-dos?
A stroll through Tallinn’s old town is a must, and a visit to the glass and art shops at Katariina Passage, which is the best place for local artifacts. Plus have a beer or café latte at the Tristan & Isolde Café under the Town Hall.
What advice would you give a visiting businessperson? Leave a free evening in your schedule to visit Tallinn’s many trendy bars and clubs. Wednesdays at Club Hollywood and Fridays at any place are the busiest.
What and where have been your most memorable meals in Tallinn?
Nevskij for great Russian appetisers and pelmeni, Controvento for tortelloni al sugo di noci followed by a tiramisu, and all restaurants by the Estonian chef Imre Kose are worth your time and money.
Where would you take a client to wow them? Lounge 8 for the trendy crowd and cocktails, La Casa de Habana for a more conservative cigar evening, or the Padaste boutique hotel and restaurant at Muhu island for a traditional sauna.
What do you miss about Tallinn when you’re away?
My friends and the long midsummer nights of Tallinn.
