Carl Forsberg
Carl Forsberg, a 25-year-old Swede, has been running his own company for 2 years and has lived and worked both in Stockholm and in the outskirts.
Where do you live and why?
I live in the centre of Ostermalm at Kommendorsgatan, just off Sturegatan. The intense environment combined with the luxury of having everything, from clubs and meeting places to the natural beauty of Djurgarden, close by really made the choice easy.
What advice would you give to a tourist? Any must-dos?
Take the time to walk around the city, especially if you come here during the summer.
Make use of the water— take a boat ride and experience Stockholm from a different point of view.
What advice would you give to a visiting businessman?
Swedes are often polite, or at least try to be. Just treat people—customers as well as others—with a common respect and it will go a long way!
What and where have been your most memorable meals?
The Swedish traditional julbord (a smorgasbord with very specific dishes around Christmas) at Ulla Winbladh on Djurgarden. The food is simply amazing, and with the snow colouring the landscape outside, that makes it something I come back to year after year.
Where would you take a client if you’d like to wow them?
I’d probably start off the evening with a cocktail at Gondolen. It has a breathtaking view over Stockholm and cocktails to die for. Maybe we’d then head down to Operakallaren for a first-class meal and I would round off the evening by giving them a taste of Stockholm’s nightlife, preferably around Stureplan.
What do you miss about Stockholm when you’re away?
The people, and if I’m visiting another big city, I keep remembering how Stockholm seems to have the perfect mix of being a large city but still small enough to really feel like home.
