Shopping

On weekdays, shops in Malmö are open from 10am-6pm, and on Saturdays between 10am-3pm.

The main shopping area runs from Stortorget, along Södergatan, across Gustav Adolfs Torg and further along Södra Förstadsgatan all the way up to Triangeln. Most of the area is pedestrianised.

At the exclusive shopping center Hansacompagniet (Stora Nygatan/Malmborgsgatan), close to Gustav Adolfs Torg, you will find a wealth of interesting shops and fashion boutiques such as Annél, Emilia af Malmö, Gina and Tricot, as well as a large bookstore and interior design stores.

Closer to Stortoget is Hennes & Mauritz (Stadt Hamburgsgatan 9) with it’s characteristic bargain-priced fashion. Designtorget (Södra Vallgatan 3) provides a sleek showcase for small and independent designers.

The hyper-exclusive Nr 19 (Baltzarsgatan 28, and Malmborgsgatan 6) displays the latest in women’s fashion. You’ll find some great handmade shoes at the famous Olséns (Gustav Adolfs Torg 41), described locally as ‘one of the good life’s last outposts’. You can order the handmade gentlemen’s shoes as well as exclusive classical tailoring.
