What advice would you give a tourist?

If you’ve only got a day, take a mouette (water taxi) from opposite the Hilton across to the Jardin Anglais, where you can see Geneva’s famous Flower Clock, and then walk back. It’s a cheap way to say you’ve been on the lake.

Take an extra day. If you can’t do that, make sure you get up early and start walking. Geneva is surprisingly small and you can easily walk around the city.

Its openess to international life, and the quality of life here is amazing. I always said I’d only come here for 2 years or I’d be here for life—33 years later, here I am!

Where would you take visiting clients to wow them?

For an aperitif on the terrace at the Perle du Lac. If it’s raining, the Hotel d’Angleterre for a lovely indoor view of the lake.

Which is your favourite restaurant?

An excellent restaurant is the Hostellerie de la Vendee in Petit Lancy. It’s just five minutes from my office and they serve spectacular food.

My wife and my daughter. And the lake and Mont Blanc—it just lifts the soul.
