The shopping in Frankfurt is excellent and thanks to Zeil, downtown Frankfurt’s main shopping promenade, shoppers have a fantastic range of goods and labels to choose from. In particular, the section between Hauptwache and the Konstablerwache is very popular. The architecturally modern, multi-storey Zeilgalerie shopping centre has a wide range of interesting shops and a number of excellent department stores. Goethestrasse is where you will find upmarket fashion boutiques and jewellery stores. Nearby Fressgasse, known as Frankfurt’s culinary mile, has an excellent range of cafés and restaurants where you can relax and unwind during your shopping spree.
In Sachsenhausen you will find numerous boutiques and second-hand shops. Leipziger and Schweizer Streets have a more international flavour. For a fun shopping expedition, try to visit the flea market along Museumsufer (Schaumainkai)—it’s held every Saturday between 8am and 2pm. For a quieter, more leisurely shopping experience head for the Frankfurt city districts of Bornheim or Bockenheim.
