Short History

Few cities have changed as dramatically over the past 10 years as Dublin. Once a rather insular sort of place, it’s now home to a diverse range of nationalities who have changed the cultural landscape for good. From the African enclave on Moore Street to the burgeoning Little Italy area along Ormond Quay, the capital is revelling in its newfound multi-ethnicity. There’s also huge excitement about the multi-million euro investment that’s transforming the derelict docks on the north side of the Liffey into a thriving commercial and residential district. Recreationally, its reputation as a party destination endures with Temple Bar home to as lively an array of clubs, pubs, restaurants and live music venues as anywhere in Europe. The city also has the benefit of being on the coast, with the seaside suburbs of Dalkey, Killiney and Sutton among its most desirable addresses. Vibrant, cosmopolitan and economically bullish, Dublin is evolving at a truly exhilarating pace.
