Bear in mind that Brussels is truly multi-lingual and you can certainly get by on English. In fact, more and more now the locals like to show off their command of the language. Also, don’t be surprised to get a kiss on the cheek, especially if you have met someone (male or female) before. First meeting will, of course, usually result in a handshake. If you’re unsure, just go with the flow.
