Getting Around

Belfast City Airport
Belfast City Airport was formerly the Harbour Airport and is only 3 miles from the city centre. Its new terminal building has easy access to transport from its one exit point.

Taxis There is an airport taxi rank just outside the terminal, and taxis can also be called from phones within the building. Most will arrive within minutes. It costs from £5-£10 depending on your destination within the city. The journey should take 10-20 minutes outside rush hour.

Car The airport is situated adjacent to the A2 Sydenham bypass, a dual carriageway which has clear city centre signposting.

Bus A regular Airbus operates into the city centre every 30 minutes. It costs £2.

Trains There is a rail link to the city centre, with a shuttle bus to Sydenham station. Trains to Central Station run every 30 minutes and cost £1.05. As Central Station belies its name, this is not a time-effective way to get into the city centre.

Belfast International Airport
Belfast International Airport is located at Aldergrove, 18 miles from Belfast.

Taxis There is an approved rank outside the building. The journey will take 30-40 minutes and cost approximately £25-£30.

Bus A regular Airbus operates every 30 minutes and takes 40 minutes. The fare is £6. Car Belfast is clearly signposted outside the airport and is a 30-40 minute drive via the M2 motorway.

In Belfast city centre, most things are within walking distance.

Taxis are cheap, with average fares under £5. Only black taxis can be hailed on the street, other public hire licensed taxis should be ordered from your hotel.

Buses operate on a single fare principle and a travel card can be purchased for multiples of five fares, with an individual journey working out around £1. These can be purchased from shops displaying a Translink sign, or the small ticket booth in Donegall Square, beside City Hall.
