The main shopping area is Pitt Street Mall (between Market and King Streets). Most of the main high street shops are found here; speciality shops are found in surrounding arcades.

The David Jones food hall, under the Market Street store, has a Fortnum & Mason-style reputation for fine foods. The Queen Victoria Building, near Town Hall, houses boutique and speciality shops. Go to Oxford Street, Paddington or Double Bay for designer outlets and boutiques. Darling Harbour and The Rocks have a mixture of good and kitsch souvenir shops.
