Washington / Nightlife / Lounge

This is DC’s most glam spot, where anyone who wants to be noticed must come, it goes without saying. Fashion models, Hollywood stars, famous athletes, and then Washington’s own version of celebrities – politicians, diplomats, and corporate royalty – are all here. It helps that Café Milano is also a fine restaurant.

This incredibly handsome bar/lounge is a hideaway, with dim lighting, dark wood, and a long, long black granite bar. A perfect spot to indulge in champagne and caviar.

The word is still not out about this stunning bar, with high ceilings, comfy armchairs, and room to relax. It’s actually a cool place for a party, with drinks like the L’Enfant (Stoli Razberi, Chambord, and lemonade) providing the spark to get it started.

Where the mint julep was introduced, what more do you need to know? Well, actually, that this is a pubby sort of bar, full of good stories that bartender Jim Hewes is happy to share. Your fellow imbibers will most likely be out-of-towners like yourself.
