Elegant, sumptuous, intimate and one of the city’s top restaurants, John Bishop’s charming room is perfect for a quiet evening out with friends or a romantic dinner with your sweetheart. An inventive menu always includes too many appealing items to make choices simple. Presentation and service are absolutely top-notch. Besides owning this lovely restaurant, John Bishop himself is one of the nicest restaurateurs in town – beloved by his loyal patrons and competition alike.

Undoubtedly Vancouver’s best stand-alone restaurant, Lumière offers an environment of both luxury and restraint. Chef Robert Feenie presides, and Executive Chef Daren Bergeron adds all the wisdom of a Quebec culinary heritage – with modern innovations. Rob Feenie is a sucker for truffles and foie gras – but then, who isn’t? You’ll never eat a single morsel of food here that isn’t absolutely brilliant. And the attached tasting bar serves the best martinis in town.

Beautiful and understated, Pastis will seduce you with its fine bistro cuisine and attentive, professional service. One renowned restaurateur and one celebrated chef joined forces to open the restaurant in the late 1990s: John Blakeley, former manager of the acclaimed Diva at the Met, and former Lumière chef Frank Pabst. The couscous crusted goat’s cheese salad with star anise and dried fig compôte is fabulous, as is Pastis’ cassoulet of crispy duck confit and pan-fried duck breast with white bean stew and tomato demi glace.

Perhaps the 'best taste’ of the summer, Provence Marinaside is a beautiful venue delighting diners with the wonderful flavours of the season, the south of France and the Pacific Northwest. This location in Yaletown, at the corner of Davie Street and Marinaside, just around the corner from Urban Fare, offers the vibrant tastes of the French Mediterranean complimented with a stunning vista of False Creek. It’s a great spot for a private business lunch, too. Above all, you must try the Provence trademark antipasti counter.
