Celebrity chef Georges Perrier created this brasserie with its modern decor and silver- leaf ceilings. Reserve a table in the dining room for a more formal experience, or eat in the bar area to be a part of a lively social scene. Enjoy free appetiser samples during happy hour while you sip ice-cold martinis and await the Franco-Asian cuisine of talented Chef Chris Scarduzio. The dining room menu is served throughout the restaurant, but the bar menu is not.

One of Philadelphia’s top-rated restaurants, Le Bec-Fin is set in a dining room that is elegant and comfortable. Considering the five-course dinner menu is prix fixe at $135 per person, Le Bec-Fin is generally considered a 'special occasion only’ restaurant. The food – traditional yet inventive French cuisine – and the experience are well worth it. Save room for a trolley of the world’s finest cheeses and homemade delicacies, including a cake gilded in genuine gold. A $45 prix fixe lunch is available Monday to Friday.

Against all odds and a changing neighbourhood demographic, Overtures has stood the test of time and remains a South Street BYOB hideaway. For a true French dining experience, try owner-chef Peter Lamlein’s prix fixe menu, which takes you from appetiser through dessert for $45. Even though the menu changes at times, the lavender-scented rack of lamb is a good bet to remain.
