New York / Nightlife

Expect everything at this upstairs and basement hangout. Some nights are all suits and ties and others are packed with a big gay disco party. Upstairs looks like a svelt Pottery Bar advertisement and downstairs a futuristic library, without the books. Drinks are pricy, but twice as thick.

Street is not an ideal location for anything, but atop a building on 55th Street is. The terrace bar is one of few in NYC, and here DJs spin good vibe music. The mix of tourists and locals, gawkers and scenesters makes for a fun night. Not too pricy, but not cheap either.

Crowds of European and UK expats pack the place during Premiership games. The bar staff is friendly with thick accents and the pints are large. Chips and pies are served up hot and heavy for those wanting a snack.

There is a whole other level of drinking going on in the hyper-designed bar. Cocktails can costs upwards of $20 apiece, but rest assured, you’ve never had anything so good. The 'Flight of the Day’ is three mini cocktails for 'can’t make up my mind’ drinkers.

With the Fulton Street fish market a block away, you know the seafood is fresh. Patrons drink 32oz. beers from Styrofoam cups and the ceiling is covered in bras and underwear. The game, whatever it is, is always on.
