Montreal / Nightlife / Sports Bar

Though not quite a proper sports bar – Café Olympico has a reputation for serving the best coffee in town. However, heaps of fanatical fans gather here on weekends to watch Formula One auto racing or important soccer games. During the World Cup, it’s a madhouse.

With over 15 locations throughout Montreal, La Cage is a likely spot to catch any big game. The menu is heavy on roasted chicken and ribs – along with plenty of beer. This location is in the Bell Centre, home of the Montreal Canadiens hockey team.

Champs is the place to root for your team – with blood vessel popping exuberance. This is the bar for serious sports fans. Talking is discouraged, however, yelling at television screen seems completely acceptable – obligatory, almost.

This downstairs sports bar has long been a favourite among extremely thirsty McGill University students. Cheap beer, cheaper food, and a plethora of giant screens filling every inch of wall space.
