A former cinema house, the Bluebird was transformed into a premier showcase for national and local bands. You’ll see everything from edgy country and rock-abilly acts to hard rock.

A funky jazz club in a seedy neighbourhood, you enter this place from the rear alley. Music starts every night at 10pm. Drinks and cover charge are reasonable. The crowd is mellow and predominately over 30. Sit at the bar or lounge on one of several old sofas.

Denver’s legendary jazz club. [open] since 1951, this smoky little hole-in-the-wall is the real deal. Sinatra, Bennett, and Fitzgerald, have all graced its stage. Ironically, the space is not ideal for live music. The tiny nook to the side of the stage offers the best acoustics and view.

This converted movie house features some of Denver’s best live rock shows. There are two bars, but no air conditioning, so gets very warm. Depending on the show, they sometimes remove the seats so you’ll have to stand.

A great place to see rock in a theatre-like setting. When there’s no band, the rooftop patio is worth checking out.
