This luxury hotel is so close to shopping you don’t even need to step outside. It’s connected to Water Tower Place, a high- rise mall with stores ranging from the Gap to Godiva, from Tourneau to Victoria’s Secret. The interior design, from the lobby to the guest rooms, is heavy on the traditional, with lots of upholstery, antiques and brocade drapes. (You can even indulge in an elegant high tea in the Greenhouse.) Despite the decor, the feeling is never stuffy thanks to the abundance of plants, flowers and natural light from windows overlooking the Magnificent Mile.
