Bamboo Luau offers sticky, sweet Cantonese cooking, fruity cocktails and sketchy characters. The drinks are fun tropical concoctions and the clientele are, well, just fruity. Like a food court filled with freaks, Bamboo Luau serves the surreal.

The longest-running drag show in Atlanta (the Southeast’s most gay-friendly city), Charlie Brown’s troupe of female impersonators has been entertaining for ages, but a lady never tells her true age. And Brown’s insult tossing and the featured performers’ lip sync routines, featured thrice nightly, are still plenty fresh.

Mere steps from the Fabulous Fox Theatre, Churchill Grounds is all that jazz. Whether indulging in cigars, coffee or cocktails, everyone equally drinks in what resonated from the intimate front-and-centre stage. The cosy blond wood venue has hosted not only the best local jazz musicians, but also a rarefied selection of merely visiting talent sitting in.

Ribs, meet blues. Blues, ribs. For tangy smoked pork ribs that will certainly stick to yours, Fat Matt’s is the place. But wait, there’s more. While you are gorging, blue musicians shake the shack. A great combo, whether talking blues and BBQ or ribs and backed beans.

Neon reflected in stainless steel surround you as you stare down into a swirling cup of coffee at this 24-hour establishment. On weekends clubbers crowd in to select from the bountiful menu of breakfast and burger fare, with some 'sophisticated’ surprises. There’s also a location in Buckhead.
