Abu Dhabi / Accommodation / Good Value

An old hotel on the outskirts of the city. Ideal for those who like a little activity with numerous water-sports and other entertainments, however not the most amazing of venues. A tired resort that isshowing its age but you can’t argue with the rates and it has the largest beach on the island. It is also close to the airport and the Abu Dhabi Exhibition Centre.

Located in the heart of the business district all rooms are equipped with your own cooking facilities. That said there are several dining options within the hotel and others in close proximity. There is also a Karaoke Club if the mood takes you or you can relax in the Regent’s Pub or Bukharah restaurant.

One of the city’s new hotels and it does what it says well. Not a wow factor place but it has all the essentials and is good value for money. Of the three restaurants, Peppinos has to be the best pick and there is a very relaxed bar that is just as popular with city residents.

After a thorough modernisation, the communal areas of the Hotel Central have a scrubbed and professional feel, and rooms are comfortable and decorated in a simple, reassuringly conservative style. Bathrooms are modern with nice touches, such as heated towel rails. Most rooms have internet connections, and as the hotel has a meeting room with audiovisual equipment seating 65, it’s a good choice for smaller conferences. The Central is right next to the imposing Tomislav Square park, directly opposite the railway station, within easy walking distance of the main square, yet doesn’t suffer from noise—and it has a few free parking spaces! All business districts can be easily reached by tram.

Located a little out of town but that only adds to the atmosphere of this place, which is set amongst serene landscaped gardens. Perfect for those who want to escape the city confines yet still be close enough to get into town easily. Not a bad spot for a budget family holiday.
