Zurich / Dining / French

This restaurant has an interesting history dating back to the 18th century when one Leonard Lipp ventured to Switzerland from Paris. Now 110 years old, it continues to carry out its tradition of serving fresh draught beer with the French food. On a sunny day, you can sit outside to enjoy your meal. Alternatively, stay inside where the warm interiors—all huge mirrors, old tiling, dark wooden furniture and linen table-cloths—complement the traditional French cuisine, creating an informal Parisian-style environment.

Be it a business lunch or a romantic candlelit dinner, this is the place to come for creative haute cuisine that tingles your taste buds. The exquisite old dining room provides a sophisticated setting for a memorable meal. This is one of Zurich’s places to see and be seen in. Recently renovated, and part of the Baur au Lac Hotel, it lives up to its reputation. The menu features delicacies like caviar and langoustines, as well as an extensive list of fish, seafood and meat dishes.

Also located at the Baur au Lac Hotel, Rive Gauche is known as the “metropolitan bar and restaurant with the cosmopolitan touch”. Stylish and elegant, this is a less formal eating option than Le Français. If you want a digestif, the bar stocks more than 100 malt whiskies for the connoisseur and the menu serves some of the best traditional French cuisine with a modern touch.
