These Swiss apartments that serve as hotels can be relied upon for their cleanliness and convenience. They have modern, well-maintained non-smoking rooms, which are basic yet very comfortable. Many visitors staying on business in Zurich for over three weeks prefer to stay here, as it feels like more of a home away from home than a hotel. Foodwise, you’ll have to fend for yourself. You could either cook for yourself or head to the lakeside restaurants and cafés. And after a hectic day, come back for a relaxing sauna.

This three-star hotel has stood in the heart of the old town of Zurich since the 14th century. However, with its recent renovations in 1997, it caters to the modern needs of its guests while retaining its old-world charm. Be it work or pleasure, you’ll find yourself at the centre of activity here. Check out the unique wall paintings in your room by artist Heinz Blum and see if you can figure out which corner of the city he has depicted.

A friendly staff greet you at Hotel Ascot. The in-house restaurant serves some delicious Mediterranean food, although if you feel like eating out there is the Japanese Fujiya close by, with which the hotel has an arrangement. Similarly, the hotel has an arrangement with two local fitness clubs. There is also a pianist at the hotel’s bar, where the Club sandwich comes highly recommended. Located in the heart of the business district, the Ascot is a superb choice for the business traveller with meeting and conference facilities including a conference room for up to 50 people.

An exquisite place with an air of sophistication, a touch of class and warm hospitality. With a history dating back 150 years, the Baur au Lac has played host to Austria’s Empress Elisabeth (Sissi), the Russian Tsarina, the German Emperor Wilhelm II, and other princes, counts and barons. Later, Zurich’s young moneyed elite invited artists over. Today, there are meeting and conference rooms that you can reserve, and when you aren’t working, try out some tennis, golf, riding, sailing or swimming. Or simply head to the beautiful jogging trail.

The [name] says it all, as the hotel is very centrally located on the Limmat River, and yet walking distance from many of the business and entertainment centres. The hotel was fashionably renovated in 2001. It has an excellent piano bar with live music, and for those who enjoy the outdoors, a pleasant walk along River Limmat would be a great idea after a good meal at the grill restaurant King’s Cave. If you’re visiting in the summer, check out Neptune’s Garden and the Sidewalk Café.
