Located in the basement of Zacheta Gallery, this place draws the arty crowd and a few international celebrities and can pride itself on winning Newsweek Polska’s ‘Best restaurant’ and ‘Best design’ awards for 2003. A great selection of malt whiskies, Cuban cigars and wines from all over the world. Excellent meat dishes and justly famous for its veal.

Very possibly the best restaurant in the country, run by Poland’s most famous chef in the fashionable Hotel Rialto. Originally hailing from Switzerland, Mr Scheller has cooked up exquisite culinary creations for diners from Jamaica to Moscow. At the Rialto, Traditional Polish and international dishes are given a contemporary twist and accompanied by fine wines, whiskeys, ports and cigars. Last orders at 10.30pm.

Immediately noticed when it opened in 1997, by 1999 it was dubbed “One of the top 10 hippest restaurants in Europe” by the Wall Street Journal. Loads of choice and many regular special offers. Very popular with the business crowd and located in just the right place to attract them in droves.
