The Clarion Hotel has the unusual aim of combining the atmosphere of an international backpacker hostel with first-class service and quality. The newly opened facilities, decorated in 1970s style, offer attractive gardens, a first-class restaurant and popular bars with live music five days a week. With conference rooms that hold up to 2,500 people and a banquet room for up to 800, it’s also a great place for big events.

The hotel itself is right in the centre and while it might not look like much from the outside, it offers a substantial surprise on the inside. The hotels design is contemporary Swedish, and it shows. Colour, form and design are all thought through to ensure a pleasant stay, to say the least. The hotel has eight larger conference rooms for up to 150 people and five smaller group rooms.

ABBA legend Benny Andersson is the man behind this hotel, and his vision has shaped it. All rooms are equipped with plasma TV, DVD/VCR, minibar and speakers—everything you need for a day or evening in. Besides that, the hotel has its own cinema, a bakery, bars, a bistro, café and five conference facilities. You really don’t need to leave at all!

The Nordic Light is another of Stockholm’s designer hotels and has been voted one of the sexiest hotels in the world. The elegant minimalist interior houses light and sound installations to create a calm and relaxed atmosphere. The stylish rooms echo the restful designs of the public areas.

Nordic Sea is one of the really outstanding design-led hotels in Stockholm, decorated in a maritime theme. The hotel is simple and refined, warm and welcoming, and all rooms have luxurious Swedish beds from Hasten to ensure a great night’s sleep. The hotel bar, Absolut Icebar, is a point of pride where everything from the glasses to the bar itself is made of ice (see picture in bar sectio later).
