Bringing Black Balzams to the masses and making it hip to drink has been B-Bars biggest success. This bar would not be out of place in London, with its cool brown interior and interesting design, it has a great atmosphere on any day of the week.

This is not one of your normal Riga clubs, this one has some style. Priding itself on bringing European DJs to Riga to spin the best dance music on the main dance fl oor and funky house in the chill out room. This clubs does not attract the normal, young morons frequenting Riga clubs, which makes a refreshing change.

The only real alternative club in Riga can be a bit of a hit and miss. Bands play frequently but whether they’re any good is a bit of a gamble. Music is all genres of alternative and rock music all played at full volume. Door staff can be extremely irritable, it must be all that noise.

The first point of call to any discerning foreigner is this English bar. With real English ales, a dartboard and traditional dinners available in the restaurant, you can reminisce about home, wherever that may be, with all the other ex-pats and travellers who congregate here.

A as newcomer to Riga, this bar is yet to be broken in and can seem a bit stale at times. The décor is nice but that’s all, lots of dark wood and Jack Daniels photographs, and there are surprisingly few foreigners here. A steak to go with your whisky is recommended.
