Prior to big games, in particular those between Real Madrid and Barcelona, palpable feelings of excitement and anticipation can be felt throughout the city. With a slew of international and Spanish stars, the quality of play in the Spanish Premier League is extremely high. The Spanish football season runs from September to May. Matches are normally held at 5pm on Sundays, and sometimes on Saturdays and some weekdays too.

The bullfighting season runs from May to October. Not for the faint hearted or squeamish, it can be an incredible spectacle.
