A perennial favourite with patrons of the nearby Usher Hall, Lyceum and Traverse Theatres, Thai Orchid’s pale green décor has a calming influence before the drama of the stage. The friendly and cheerful service is certainly a draw, as the food—although more than adequate—is not out of the top drawer of Edinburgh’s culinary experiences. However, it’s a very convenient little oasis of calm just off the hectic Lothian Road on a Friday night.
