Fantastic value for your money, the Ibis Hotel has a superb location right in the centre of town; close to the action but far enough away to give you some peace. Facilites are fairly simplistic, but it has a reputation for spotlessly clean rooms. If you don’t fancy venturing into the city centre, the hotel’s restaurant has an adequate à la carte menu to choose from.

The Quality’s golf course, and its location near fairytale Castell Coch makes it a good out-of-town stay. The hotel is a little worn but has four fully equipped conference rooms, and although there is no business centre the reception does provide some secretarial services. Relax in the leisure club with its heated indoor pool and gym. Welsh and international cuisine is served in the restaurant.

This family-run hotel has a friendly atmosphere and reliable service. Typically, rooms are basic but spacious; decor is not particularly modern but cleanliness is impeccable. The location offers easy access to everything Cardiff has to offer. The hotel has two meeting rooms able to accommodate up to 80 people, theatre-style. ‘Café Jazz’, the hotel’s bar and restaurant, offers live jazz nights.

Black mirrored windows stretch the height of this converted office block, making it easy to pick out on Cardiff’s skyline. And when you’re inside this conveniently central hotel, views reach as far as the Severn Bridge. With its refreshingly new style of interior design that could be described as somewhat wacky, the Big Sleep, which is part-owned by actor John Malkovich, offers a stylish new alternative at budget rates. The ‘breakfast to go’ is a thoughtful and realistic touch for busy business guests.
