Cardiff / Accommodation

Cardiff’s Marriott boasts a prestigious location in the centre of town, a stone’s throw from the bustling nightlife of Mill Lane, only minutes from Cardiff central station, the Millennium Stadium and the Cardiff International Arena. If you’re not a night owl, you may want to ask for a room at the back as some rooms can be a bit noisy. With eight meeting rooms and attentive service, the Marriott is ideal for business travellers. Get set up for the day with the hearty Welsh buffet-style breakfast.

Reflecting its situation on the Bay, The Hanover has a maritime theme with aqua-marine colour schemes and deck promenades. It’s a pleasant, four-star hotel, that offers 10 meeting rooms with a 10 to 200 capacity and more than adequate leisure facilities including sauna, spa, steam rooms and solarium. It could be criticised for being a little shabby in places, but the friendly and attentive service makes up for this.

Winner of Intercontinental 2000 and 2001 Quality Excellence Awards, The Express by Holiday Inn on the waterfront of Cardiff Bay is recommended for budget convenience. They have a guest satisfaction tracking system, so the quality of service is monitored for consistence. This hotel also benefi ts from two onsite conference rooms with a capacity to hold up to 30 delegates. There’s no modem in the rooms, but there is an internet connection on the ground fl oor.

With its fantastic views from the second tallest building in Cardiff, and well equipped Vital spa and health club, newcomer Holland House is close contender for Cardiff’s premier hotel. All in all, it offers over and above its four-star rating, and has friendly and attentive service. The stained-glass backdrop in the lobby and the elegant lighting features in the halls and conference rooms ooze class. Enjoy the warm and inviting bar and restaurant where a pianist plays once a week.

Fantastic value for your money, the Ibis Hotel has a superb location right in the centre of town; close to the action but far enough away to give you some peace. Facilites are fairly simplistic, but it has a reputation for spotlessly clean rooms. If you don’t fancy venturing into the city centre, the hotel’s restaurant has an adequate à la carte menu to choose from.
