A stone’s throw from Potsdamer Platz, this relatively new penthouse club attracts a well-heeled, fashionable crowd at weekends. Take a break from the dancefloor on the rooftop patio.

 

East Berlin’s best jazz venue, featuring top-notch international acts most nights as well as fresh faces from the local jazz scene. Go on Wednesdays for Robin’s Nest free jam session, or on Sunday if tango is more your thing.

 

CSA is a sophisticated cocktail bar housed in the former Czech Airlines office on East Berlin’s boulevard of Stalinist architecture, Karl Marx Allee. Sip expertly made drinks while admiring CSA’s modernist splendour.

 

In 2005, Felix became the upmarket nightclub in central Berlin—expect to queue unless you’re on the guest list. Located behind the luxury Adlon Hotel, the Felix manages to attract plenty of celebrity faces with its dining and dancing concept.

 

A tiny bar in Charlottenburg with a French theme serving excellent cocktails and bar snacks. Many of its regulars work in the film industry or theatre.

 

East Berlin’s first 'American table-dance club’. Centrally located on the main tourist strip in Mitte, Goldclub has a gentleman’s club atmosphere, boasting a VIP area, private rooms and a well-stocked bar. Thursday is ladies’ night with male dancers.

 

Opulent new dining, music and dancing club housed in the massive former Metropol theatre (a cabaret and cinema) with several floors of gourmet dining, bars and live entertainment. The club was financed through the novel concept of the selling shares to local celebrities.

 

Ring the bell on the titular Green Door. A huge range of cocktails awaits you once you’re inside and you can enjoy a drink and a conversation in a chilled out atmosphere.

 

Catch a Liverpool match here and you’ll feel like you’re back in the UK, with fans packing the place out. You can catch all major games live here on big screens. They have Guiness, English cider and German beers on tap, plus tasty pub grub.

 

Tropically themed, intimate table-dance club with an Egyptian touch. Girls poledance on a giant hand. Regular shows involve fire and body-painting. Free entry.

 

Decorated with huge female nude photos by native Berliner Helmut Newton, the Newton Bar has almost sinfully comfortable chairs in which to lounge and enjoy the cigar you picked up from the huge humidor upstairs. Expect an upscale, moneyed clientele.

 

The eastern part of the city’s oldest Irish pub attracts a mixed crowd of expats, Germans and tourists. They regularly show live Premiere League and international football on several screens. A great place for a relaxing pint of Guinness and a game.

 

A funky café-restaurant with a bar and club in the back, Oxymoron is located right in the charming art deco Hackesche Höfe courtyards. The dance floor gets going around midnight. DJs usually spin funk, soul, house and R&B.

 

The Paris Club is a Berlin institution, where Berlin’s cultural elite rub elbows and let the champagne flow. Watch out for the paparazzi!

 

This labyrinthine nightclub in a disused underground station hosts top-notch international DJs and monthly themed nights—like the bizarre 'Blood’ party, featuring live tatooing, kinky dancers and oddball live acts, all hosted by local nightlife queen Dahlia.

 

A new player on the club scene, Weekend has quickly developed into one of Berlin’s trendiest venues for record release and fashion parties, largely due to the brilliant panoramic view over central Berlin. The crowd is a mix of fashionable twenty- and thirtysomethings.
