Camper, the Mallorcan-based shoe brand, has brought its happy-go-lucky philosophy to the hotel business with the very first Casa Camper. The idea is that guests feel at home. So everyone gets a key to the front door, 24-hour access to the kitchen with free snacks and drinks, and a two-room suite (one room for sleeping, the other with flat-screen TV, hammock and table for hanging out). The decor is urban and hard-lined and everything you see here is for sale in the shop VinÁon. Camper’s health-conscious, eco-friendly attitude is seen everywhere. Signs encouraging you to take the stairs instead of the elevator are posted in the hallways and absolutely everything is recycled. There are a few simple rooms available for events.

A favourite with visiting celebrities, the posh Hotel Arts has been considered Barcelona’s top hotel since it opened a decade ago. Located right on the waterfront, it’s a 44-storey tower with sweeping views of the city and the Mediterranean. Unparalleled service and all the amenities you can imagine—like a pillow 'menu', Bang & Olufsen CD players and even a free shoe-shining service—make the Hotel Arts Barcelona’s premier pampering spot. The Spa by Six Senses (on the 43rd floor) and the restaurant Arola (overseen by Michelin-starred chef Sergi Arola) make this a truly special place. There are 14 meeting rooms and one large ballroom that accommodates up to 1,000 people.

Housed in a fabulous 18th-century palace, this elegant boutique hotel is the perfect combination of old and new. Original architectural elements from the old palace have been carefully preserved, but the stone mansion is now decorated in an edgy style that contrasts modern materials with old-fashioned elegance. Rooms boast all the extras, including a CD player and video on demand. For meetings or interviews, there’s a small library and a comfortable meeting room with chairs for 10.
