Adjacent to the Royal Botanic Gardens,this is the art gallery in the state.Entry is free although charges do apply to some of the exhibitions.On Wednesdays the gallery is [open] to 9pm so you can appreciate all the wonderful Australian,European and Asian art.After you ’ve finished,stroll through the Domain (one of Sydney ’s great parks) and take a look at the sensational harbour views from Mrs Macquarie ’s chair (carved into a sandstone headland in honour of the governor ’s wife).

 

A massive 17-screen cinema complex close to Town Hall station shows the latest movies. Dendy Opera Quays,East Circular Quay Tel:9247 3800 This is where you ’ll find more alternative or arty films.It ’s right next to the sophisticated bars and restaurants of East Circular Quay so you ’re spoilt for choice for drinks and dining.

 

One of the city ‘s newest attractions.A state of the art leisure complex with an Olympic pool,children ‘s play area,fitness centre and leisure pool with a wave machine and rapids.Heaps of fun and next to Hyde Park.

 

About half the site is occupied by a real working movie studio which has produced films such as The Matrix and Mission Impossible 2 .The rest of the area features shops,cafés and a cinema complex.There ’s also a farmers market on Wednesdays and Saturdays.Great for kids.

 

The harbour-side fun park that everyone has loved since 1935 re[open]ed in 2004.For the kids and the young-at-heart,there are 17 rides,set among cafés,live entertainment and the backdrop of the harbour.Entry is free with a pay-as-you-go system.
