Shanghai / Nightlife

Bar Rouge is a recent addition to the ever-growing Bund development and has become a regular haunt of the city’s rich and famous. The outdoor terrace is one of the city’s most romantic spots.

This lovely old house, set in a large garden, is possibly the most intimate bar in Shanghai. The mellow atmosphere is enhanced by subtly lit sculptures and paintings, comfy couches and sedan beds.

Despite competition from up-and-coming venues along the Bund, the Glamour Room is still true class. A regular host of international cabaret acts, this intimate venue offers something different. Tastefully decorated with quirky lamps, antiques and crystal bead curtains.

This popular jazz bar has secured a loyal crowd of patrons with its varied stream of international artists. Drinks are pricey, but it’s a good atmosphere and tends to attract an older crowd who really know what they like in live music.

Home to one of Shanghai’s best freestyle jazz ensembles, JZ Club offers great local music into the early hours of the morning. The [open]-plan design allows the sound of live trumpets, bass and drums to permeate the entire place.
