Probably Itaewon’s most popular expatriate bar, Gecko’s Terrace gets hugely crowded with a motley crew of GIs, English teachers and students on weekend evenings. Good for a bar lunch, but in the evenings it’s a struggle.

Itaewon’s first non-girly bar ‘The Nash’, which [open]ed in 1982, is famed Asia-wide for its burgers and steaks, served in the Country & Western themed basement bar. Video movies play all day on the huge TV. Upstairs there’s a newer sports bar with pool and darts and a Latin dance bar (with free salsa lessons on Thursdays).
