Reminiscent of a Bond movie set, Aero is done up like a 1960s airport lounge. A great place to chill out, knock back a Pussy Galore and imagine yourself gracing the pages of Wallpaper magazine.

Despite the thatched roof and wooden boat fronting this place, the Beach Club is as far away from a tranquil day at the beach as you can get. It’s loud, it’s smoky and it’s sleazy (with a blatant bar girl scene). Crowded with expats and tourists.

This lively nightspot boasts live jazz some nights and a busy dancefloor on others. The cocktails are the stuff of local legend, so go ahead and indulge. Cigars are also on hand for a truly decadent night out.

A busy Latino bar that makes a stab at decor, drinks and culture from Latin America. A trim Malaysian band belting out salsa to an appreciative crowd may be a surreal sight, but there’s no doubting that El Niño offers a great night out, whether you’re a dancefloor sensation or blighted with two left feet.

A cosy watering hole where expatriates gather and talk shop. Finnegan’s friendly staff serve up great bar food too, like Irish stew and Molly Malone’s fish soup.
