It’s a great place to try out your haggling skills and—who knows—you just might walk away with a real bargain. Chinatown has cleaned up recently and the authorities have built a new covered walkway for pedestrians.

 

Have you had enough of shopping? Need to let off some steam? Kuala Lumpur’s enormous shopping mall, Berjaya Times Square, also has an indoor theme park with 14 rides, including a hair-raising roller coaster that swoops and dips seven floors above the shoppers.

 

Malaysia is up-to-date in screening the latest blockbusters and at very low prices. Cinemas in Kuala Lumpur are modern, well equipped and clean. A good way to escape the city for a few hours. A ticket costs about £1.

 

Set at the foot of the towers, this is a great spot for a picnic. Shady trees and shrubs native to Malaysia line the park, which is popular with the locals. A twoacre children’s playground in the middle of the park features fountain pools and wading pools.
