Beijing / Nightlife

When someone says “Centro” they mean “cocktails”. Situated in the Kerry Centre Hotel, this bar oozes comfort. Work your way through the excellent drinks menu served by attentive staff and enjoy the nightly live jazz performances.

Upmarket bar in the north of Beijing, Cloud Nine is a classy act all the way—part of the Shangri-La complex.

Another secret hidden in Beijing’s hutongs, this will only take 15 minutes from the city centre by taxi. The restaurant serves Himalayan cuisine and it’s much better than the surrogates for Tibetan cuisine sold elsewhere in Beijing.

The Brits come here for rugby and cricket, but other people just go after work or a round of golf to drink and chat.

This is a great place for both the more mainstream of the exotic Belgian beers and the oven-baked pizzas. New location in the alleyway behind Poacher’s, but everything is just as it was. Typical expat bar, only because it’s so cosy.
